State Congress: Isa Bawa Elected As Kwara PDP Chairman
Alhaji Isa Adamu Bawa, a former Commissioner for Energy, was on Saturday sworn in as Chairman of Kwara State PDP and he has described the emergence of new members of the State Working Committee of the party as a momentous point and yet another milestone in the growth of the party in the State of Harmony.
He noted that he is committed to rebuilding a stronger PDP that will shape the future and chart the course and path for the success and progress of the party.
The new chairman thanked Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki for his leadership that has helped the party to overcome trials and tribulations while commending the outgoing chairman, Hon Babatunde Mohammed for all he had done for the party.
Hon Isa Bawa promised to rebuild the trust in the PDP and give equal opportunities to everyone who believes in the cause of the party.
The state congress that produced Alhaji Isa Bawa as chairman was held at Arca Santa Arena, Ilorin on Saturday with party big wigs including former Senate President, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki, former PDP National Chairman, Alhaji Kawu Baraje, PDP National Legal Adviser, Barrister Kamaldeen Ajibade, former Speaker Ahmad Ali, former Speaker Razak Atunwa, Alhaji Balogun Fulani, Alhaji Shuaib Yamah, Professor Muritala Awodun, Engineer Yinka Otukoko, Hon Moshood Bakare among others in attendance.
A total number of 1,572 delegates attended the state congress with Hon Jacob Mark, who headed the Electoral Committee, praising the display of harmony, cooperation, unity and oneness by party members in the state while noting that it was the first time he would be witnessing such a thing at a state congress.
One of the highlights of the event was the arrival of an APC chieftain, former Rep Moshood Mustapha at the event, he walked into Arca Santa Arena at 2.08 pm, but however left after spending about one hour there.
