Stepping Stone College Wins 2023 KW-IRS Interschool Quiz Competition In Ilorin…Receives N2.5m Cash Prize

Kwara state Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Hajia Sa’daatu Modibo , has emphasized importance of motivating students for academic excellence and the need to come up with programmes that would not only improve their intellectual ability  but also boost healthy academic performance and make them have a bright future.

Team@orientactualmags.com learned that Hajia Sa’daatu Modibo said this while giving her speech during the grand finale of the 2023 Tax Club interschool  Quiz Competition  which was  organized by the Kwara state Internal Revenue Service, KW-IRS in collaboration with the Kwara state Ministry of Education & Human Capital Development.

  The Education commissioner has also  expressed the need to encourage intellectual prowess among the young people, noting that the  annual  Quiz Competition is important having provided a platform for ‘mental development, academic excellence and futuristic capacity building among our students’ .

The Ministry of Education , she noted, will always embrace innovative approach to healthy academic competitions that would make Kwara state students improve self-confidence.

Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq , who was represented by  Secretary to the State Government (SSG) , Alhaji Abdulqadri Mahe, promised that his administration will invest more in education sector and also further encourage the KWIRS.

Earlier, the Executive Secretary of KWIRS, Sade Omoniyi after encouraging reading and dedicated learning among the young people disclosed that at the start of the competition,   231 schools  participated and as it progresses, the participants got reduced to  92  and later  18 before six high schools eventually made it to the final rounds.

She  added that the competition was in three categories: teachers, schools and students.

In the meanwhile, Stepping Stone College, Ilorin , has emerged  as winner of the 2023  quiz competition and received N2.5 million cash prize.

Others were: the first runner-up, Eucharistic Heart of Jesus college that won N1.5 million cash prize and the third runner-up, Government Secondary School Lafiagi – N1 million cash prize.

In the student category, the overall winner got N400,000, the first runner-up- N300,000 while the third runner-up was given N200,000.

The first teacher also got N150,000, second- N100,000 and the third- N50,000-Team@orientactualmags.com
