Support Efforts To Protect Transformers In Kebbi, Gov Idris Urges Hunters

Governor Nasiru Idris of Kebbi state has urged members of the hunter’s association in the state to join efforts to protect transformers across the state.

Governor Nasiru Idris’ Special Adviser on Media, Mr. Yahaya Sarki noted in a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com that  Alhaji Kabiru Sani Giant , who is the governor’s Special Adviser  on Power and Political Affairs, said this during the meeting he held with members of the local Hunters Association in Birnin Kebbi. 

He added that this had become necessary following reported cases of vandalization of transformers and theft of armoured cables by miscreants in some communities in the state. 

He  also submitted that it is very unfortunate that some criminals are taking advantage of the current blackout in the state  to  ‘steal’ transformers.

He said this was sequel to the fire incident that   had 90MVA (330KV/132KV) and 60MVA (132KV/33KV) transformers supplying power to Kebbi, Sokoto and parts of Zamfara states burnt down .

‘The miscreants are taking advantage of the blackout to steal armoured cables and vandalize transformers by removing some vital electrical parts .

 This has repercussions on the public and poses a serious threat to the safety and protection of these important electrical gadgets in our communities. 

 That is why we are seeking the support of the hunters association headed by  Alhaji Labaran as they are seasoned local security personnel. 

Consider your work as a sacrifice and service to the people of Kebbi state only Allah can reward you abundantly’ he said.

Alhaji Kabiru Sani Giant urged the hunters to be vigilant and protect transformers in  all the nooks and crannies of the state.

He equally appealed to community members particularly the youths to be vigilant in their respective areas.

Responding,  the State Commandant of Nigerian Hunters and Forest Security Service, Amb. Musa Hussaini Rambo thanked Governor Nasir Idris and  Alhaji Giant for their support  for the association. 

He also thanked Alhaji Labaran for his unrelenting advice on security matters while pledging the commitment of members of the association to sustaining regular patrols in order to provide security and protect transformers across the state-.Team@orientactualmags.com
