SWS Honours Gov Idris With Award In Abuja, Commends Him For Empowering Kebbi Women
The governor of Kebbi state, Comrade (Dr) Nasir Idris, who is the Kauran Gwandu, has been honoured with an award by a group, the Standup For Women Society (SWS).
A statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com by the governor’s Special Adviser on Media, Mr. Yahaya Sarki on Tuesday noted that this was done in recognition of the governor’s efforts to improve the standard of living of women in Kebbi state and promote opportunities for them.
Governor Idris was honored with an award by the SWS during its second national conference which was held at the Top Rank Hotel Galaxy, Abuja, from 13th to 14th September 2023.
The conference had as its theme : ‘Women: Bridge- builders in good governance and societal balance’.
Chairperson of the organization in Kebbi state ,who is also the First Lady’s Chief Press Secretary , Hajiya Binta Abdulhamid received the award on behalf of the governor.
She noted that the SWS took the decision to honour Governor Idris with an award in recognition of his leading role when it comes to empowerment of women in the country, while commending him for his humility, open -mindedness, open door policy, mentoring and accommodating posture.
Two other political figures in Kebbi state; Alhaji Yakubu Bala Tafida , Secretary to the State Government and Commissioner for local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Alhaji Garba Umar Dutsin Mari also received awards at the event in recognition of their contribution to the development of women in Kebbi state-Team@orientactualmags.com
