Taoreed Lagbaja: Gov Adeleke Declares 3 Days Of Mourning In Osun, Orders Flags At Half-staff
Governor Ademola Adeleke officially declared the start of a period of 3-day mourning for the late Chief of Army Staff, General Taoreed Lagbaja in Osun State on Thursday.
Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Hon Kolapo Alimi in a statement he issued in Osogbo and made available to Team@orientactualmags.com noted that 3 days of mourning will be observed in the State of the Living Spring in honour of the late army chief, an indigene of the state.
The State government has also directed that flags should be flown at half-staff at public places during the same period.
Hon Alimi added that books of condolence have been made available for the people of the state at the Government House and the Governor’s Office.
‘The death of the late COAS is devastating, a colossal loss to humanity and the nation, and we can’t forget him.
The government is sad at this irreparable loss of one of the glories of Osun State, and we particularly condole with the Lagbaja family of Ilobu, the Olobu of Ilobu and everyone.
The mourning period will start today, Thursday, November 7, 2024, and end on Saturday, November 9, while the books of Condolence that we have provided will enable the people to pen down their memories of him, for the immortality of the late COAS, who died at the age of 56.
