Taskforce Chairman Restates Delta Govt’s Commitment To Land Recovery Mission

Delta state Government has pledged to recover government lands that have been illegally acquired by land grabbers in the state.
A statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com noted that Chairman of the State Taskforce on Land Recovery and Outright Demolition Committee, Chief Frank Omare said this during the meeting he held with occupiers of landed property at the Dennis Osadebay University, Anwai-Asaba at the Government House, Asaba.
Chief Omare said any existing building on the University land without Certificate of Occupancy would be demolished, submitting that many people have encroached on government lands without recourse to the law guiding land acquisition.
He warned that there would be no sacred cow when it comes to reclaiming government lands and he has advised anyone without C Of O to relocate as illegal structures in the affected areas would not be spared.
Chief Omare urged Deltans to ensure that they follow legal means before acquiring any land as defaulters will face unpleasant consequences.

Giving his speech, the Vice- Chancellor, Dennis Osadebay University, Anwai-Asaba, Professor Ben Oghojafor thanked Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for constituting the committee to recover the university land that had been encroached on by illegal land speculators, pointing out that a lot of persons have built on government lands.
Professor Oghojafor also debunked rumours that the management team of the institution was involved in land racketeering, submitting that no effort would be spared in recovering the lands.
Some owners of illegally acquired properties however appealed to the state government to temper justice with mercy, adding that thorough investigation should be carried out to ascertain those with Certificate of Occupancy-Team@orientactualmags.com Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
