Top Politicians, Friends, Others Honour Abdulahi Oganija At Daughter’s Wedding In Ilorin
Kwara State PDP Chairman, Hon Babatunde Mohammed, former Rep Ganiyu Olododo, Controller of Customs, who is also the Secretary of Customs Tender Board, Alhaji Abdulfatai AbdulKadir, Chairman/CEO of TASCON Plastic Industries, Ilorin, Alhaji Akeem Salahudeen, former Kwara State Commissioner for Agriculture, Alhaji Saka Onimago, Major General Abdul Wahab Ayitayo and his wife, Mrs. Ayitayo, Kwara State Accountant General, Alhaji AbdulGaniyu Sanni, former Commissioner for Education, Alhaji Nimota Ibrahim, Dr Muhammad Alada, a lecturer at the Department of Political Science, University of Ilorin, and other prominent Nigerians attended the wedding of Sherifat Oganija and Nasir Abubakar in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital, at the weekend.
The Wolimat and Ere Osan sections of the wedding ceremony were held at Oganija’s compound , Alanamu, Ilorin on Friday, June 13, 2025, while the wedding reception took place at Victoria Hall, Royal Rock Hotel, Gaa Odota, Ilorin on June 14, 2025.
Mrs. Ajimobi and Mrs. Dare Aree from the United Kingdom, Mr. and Mrs Tijani from Dublin and Mr Abdul Maruf Diekola and Alhaji Hussein Bello from the United States of America were among family members and friends who came from outside the country to attend the event.
Former Commissioner for Health, Dr Atolagbe Alege, former state lawmaker, Engineer Sulyman Warah, former guber aspirant, Engineer Baba Idris, Sheikh Abubakar Baba Otte, Barrister Lateef Okandeji, CEO, Oklar Oil and Gas Ltd, Alhaji Okanla, CEO, Orange Oil and Gas Ltd, CEO/ MD, Ayoka Oil and Gas Ltd, CEO/MD, Fortunate Oil and Gas Ltd, Professor Ajibola Akanbi 2, Professor Tosho Musa, Professor Kayode Adams, Kwara State PDP Secretary, Hon Abdulrahman Abdullahi Kayode, the state Publicity Secretary, Mr Olusola Adewara, Alhaji Lateef Gbadamosi, Alhaji Shuaib Fari , Comrade Olalekan Lawal aka Auto , and Comrade Adio Odunjo also graced the occasion.
A member of EFCC Board, Alhaji Kola Rahim Adesina, Engineer AbdulWaheed Dan Azumi, Engineer Isiaka Otegbeye, Alhaji Nasir Ibrahim, Alhaji Tijani Shekerau, Alhaji Ibrahim Olowo, Barrister Kayode Olateju, CEO of Abidex Food Nig Ltd, Abdulsalam Rasheedat, Alhaji AbdulRazaq Lawal Amubioye, Alhaji Musa Oloriegbe, Hon AbdulKareem Adnan Adekunle, Alhaji Abiodun Muhideen, Hajia Bilikis Otunbogun, Alhaji Shehu Oniguguru, and Akinkanju Ode Ilu Ilorin were also among dignitaries that attended the event.
DJ Sleek was there to pick songs that connect with the audience, Mallam Bolaji Gobir was the Master of Ceremony while a popular fuji musician in Lagos State, Wasiu Nurudeen Omogbolahan was on the bandstand to entertain guests at the wedding reception.
The bride, Sherifat, is the daughter of Alhaji Abdulahi Balaafi Oganija, a man about town, who is a popular politician and businessman in Kwara State.

When asked what would be his advice for the new couple, he said ‘prayer’ and ‘love’ are foundational elements for a successful marriage.
‘The bridegroom has become my son , so, my advice to my son and daughter is that they should remember that God Himself is the one who started the institution of marriage, so, He’s the who can help them navigate through this new chapter of their lives.
