Traditional religion worshippers in Ekiti state have urged the Federal Government and the state government to declare August 20 a free day to mark ‘Isese Day’.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned that traditional religion worshippers under different groups gathered at the Falegan area of Ado Ekiti, the state capital, to celebrate this year’s Isese Day on Sunday.
They commended the governments of Lagos, Osun, Oyo and Ogun states for giving recognition to traditional religion by announcing a free day to mark ‘Isese Day’.

‘We appeal to Governor Biodun Oyebanji, who is a people’s governor, to declare a public holiday for Isese so that we can have time to celebrate the yearly event like his counterparts in other South-West states have done’ he said.
The Awise, who said the traditional religion worshippers had been praying daily at their individual level, added that, ‘but today, this is collective. We are using this occasion to pray for President Bola Tinubu and his government; Ekiti state governor, Mr. Oyebanji, and his government, the traditional rulers and everybody in the state’.
‘Isese is the first religion which everybody should embrace and celebrate. It is a moment for prayers and celebrating our past and present’ Oba Aare Oloja Isese Agbaye, Ifakayode Famuyibo, also submitted.
