Traditional Religion Worshippers Want  FG, Ekiti Govt To  Announce August 20  As ‘Free Day’

Traditional religion worshippers in Ekiti state have urged the Federal Government and the state government  to declare  August 20  a free day to mark ‘Isese Day’.

Team@orientactualmags.com learned that traditional religion worshippers under different groups gathered at the Falegan area of Ado Ekiti, the state capital, to celebrate this year’s Isese Day on Sunday.

They commended  the governments of Lagos, Osun, Oyo and Ogun states for giving recognition to traditional religion by  announcing a free day to mark ‘Isese Day’.

The Awise (Speaker) of the National Council of Iseselagba (traditional religion  worshippers) in Ekiti state, Dauda Lawal, who praised the Ekiti state Government for its approach to issues and developmental strides however urged Governor Biodun Oyebanji to recognize August 20 as ‘Isese Day’.

‘We appeal to Governor Biodun Oyebanji, who is a people’s governor, to declare a public holiday for Isese so that we can have time to celebrate the yearly event like his counterparts in other South-West states have done’ he said.

The Awise, who said the traditional  religion worshippers had been praying daily at their individual level, added that, ‘but today, this is collective. We are using this occasion to pray for President Bola Tinubu and his government; Ekiti state governor, Mr.  Oyebanji, and his government, the traditional rulers and everybody in the state’.

 ‘Isese is the first religion which everybody should embrace and celebrate. It is a moment for prayers and celebrating our past and present’ Oba Aare Oloja Isese Agbaye, Ifakayode Famuyibo, also submitted.

The traditional  religion worshippers including adherents of Ifa, Osun, Oya, Aje, Osanyin, who  wore white attires, offered prayers for peace, tranquility, prosperity, and progress in the lives of the country and  the citizens’ he added-Team@orientactualmags.com
