Transition Committee To Gov Oyetola:  Pay Off Rent Arrears Before Leaving Office Next Month

Transition Committee To Gov Oyetola:  Pay Off Rent Arrears Before Leaving Office Next Month

The Ademola Adeleke Transition Committee has urged Governor Gboyega Oyetola to pay off all rent arrears  before leaving office on November 27.

In a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com  by  Mallam Olawale Rasheed , the committee urged Governor Oyetola to settle all the rent arrears and avoid imposing an undue burden on the incoming administration.

‘We also call on Governor Oyetola not to ruin what remains of the economy of Osun state by his administration’s refusal to settle rent arrears across the agencies. There should be a limit to organized plots to make Osun go bankrupt .

The warming is coming amidst reliable reports that many agencies of government have refused to pay accumulated rents because their chief executives have diverted budgeted funds.

The report further indicated that the fraudulent practice is so widespread that landlords are mounting pressure on Governor Oyetola, his commissioners, and heads of agencies to settle the rent arrears before November 27th.

Rather than getting this done especially when the funds were duly appropriated, the Oyetola administration is reported to be reassuring the landlords that government is a continuum and that the incoming government will settle the rent arrears.

Our checks showed that the outstanding debt on rented apartments runs into several millions of naira

It has therefore become necessary to call on landlords and real estate practitioners to ensure  that Oyetola settles outstanding rent arrears  before the end of his tenure.

For the avoidance of doubt, the incoming Adeleke administration will not be responsible for any unpaid rent arrears  especially when available evidence has confirmed that the budgeted funds have been diverted into private pocket by officials of the outgoing administration’ the statement said-Team@orientactualmags.com Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
