The Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) has described as untrue the media report claiming that the commission’s Executive Secretary, Dr Hamid Bobboyi lamented poor school infrastructure in Kwara state, submitting that the media report in question was a figment of the reporter’s imagination
‘I am to inform you that at no point in time during (the visit of the UBEC Executive Secretary) to monitor the Master Trainers’ workshop that was held in Ibadan, Oyo state, did he make any statement on the state of education in Kogi, Kwara and other states. He did not present an address during this visit’ a statement made available to by Atere Aminat Abiola quoted Dr Hamid Bobboyi’s Special Assistant , Unwaha Yahaya Ismaila to have submitted in the letter sent to the chairman of Kwara state Universal Basic Education Board Prof. Shehu Raheem Adaramaja which was dated August 9, 2024.
‘It was only pointed out that the workshop being held in Ibadan drew participants from Kogi, Kwara and the southern states, and that and a similar training workshop was going on simultaneously in Bauchi for participants from the northern states. This information did not in any way suggest or relate to the state of education in these states.
The commission is aware that this false report would have caused you some concern and embarrassment, but you should rest assured that it is not the practice of the Executive Secretary to use a public forum like the visit to Ibadan to cast aspersions on the efforts that states are making towards the smooth implementation of the UBE programme’ the Executive Secretary added-Team@orientactualmags.com Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
