Ukraine Breaks With Tradition, Celebrates Christmas On December 25
After celebrating Christmas on January 7 for many years now, Ukraine has taken a decision to break with tradition.
Parting ways with Russia which still celebrates Christmas on January 7, Ukraine marked the Christmas Day on Monday, December 25.
Recall that Ukraine’s government had in a legislation passed in July which was signed into law by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that Ukrainians wanted to “live their own life with their own traditions and holidays’.
The new law allows them to ‘abandon the Russian heritage of imposing Christmas celebrations on January 7’ , he had added.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned that Christianity is the largest religion in Ukraine and what was done on Monday was considered as a snub to Russia and the Russian Orthodox Church, which follows the Roman-era Julian calendar for religious occasions-Team@orientactualmags.com Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
