The University of Ilorin , Ilorin, Kwara state, has announced the expulsion of a 100-level student, Olanrewaju AbdulKadir, for allegedly demanding ransom from the parents of a missing fellow student.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned that this was contained in the Monday, June 3, 2024,, edition of the University bulletin which was signed by the institution’s Director of Corporate Affairs, Mr Kunle Akogun.
The expelled student, with matriculation number 22/52HL004 was a student at the Department of Information Technology and Faculty of Communication and Information Sciences.
The university has also rusticated a 400-level student,, Segun Micheal Oyewole, for beating a fellow female student.
Oyewole, who was rusticated for one academic session, is a student at the Department of Counselor Education, Faculty of Education .
In the meanwhile, the University of Ilorin has also announced the promotion of 16 of its senior academics to the rank of Professor.
Their elevation was sequel to the recommendations of the University’s Appointments and Promotion Committee and after getting the go-ahead from the Minister of Education, Prof. Tahir Mamman, SAN.
The university noted that this was also done in recognition of their exceptional achievements in teaching, research, and community service.
A statement from the Office of the Registrar noted that the 16 distinguished scholars were found to have excelled in the realms of teaching, research and community service.
The breakdown of the beneficiaries of the promotion exercise showed that three of the new Professors were produced by the Faculty of Clinical Sciences and they are; Prof. John Kola Olarinoye, Prof. James Ayodele Ogunmodede, and Prof. Simeon Kayode Olubiyi.
The Faculty of Education also produced Prof. Abdulrahman Suyuti Omosidi, who teaches at the Department of Educational Management.
Two lecturers from the Faculty of Engineering and Technology were also elevated to the rank of Professor and they are; Prof. Kamorudeen Olaniyi Yusuf and Prof. Habeeb Adewale Ajimotokan-Team@orientactualmags.com Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
