Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun state has described the recent appointment of principal officers for the University of Ilesa as part of the fulfillment of his promise to nurture a sustainable tertiary institution in Ijeshaland.
In a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com by his spokesman, Mr Olawale Rasheed, Governor Adeleke reaffirmed his commitment to building a sure -footed university which he said informed his decision to approve the appointment of a leading academic of international repute, Prof Taiwo Asaolu as Vice Chancellor of the institution.
Commending the applause the new appointments had elicited from the Ijesha people, the governor assured that the many laudable ideas that had been recommended by the review committee headed by Asaolu would now get implemented on his (Asaolu) watch .
‘I am elated that we are keeping faith with the Ijesha people. We are upholding due process, avoiding politicization of the academic environment, correcting errors of the past and fulfilling the decades old dream of the Ijesha people.
I commend the leaders, sons and daughters of Ijeshaland for their patience and acceptance of ongoing decisions of our government.
