Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun state has approved the appointment of principal officers for the University of Ilesa, Ilesa.
The governor’s spokesman, Mr Olawale Rasheed noted in a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com on Thursday that Secretary to the State Government, Hon Teslim Igbalaye ‘issued and presented letters of appointment to the principal officers today in his office in Osogbo’.
The statement added that the SSG urged them to uphold the virtue of professionalism and integrity which had endeared them to the governor and had made him recommend them for the positions.
‘The names of the principal officers are as follows:
1. Vice Chancellor: Professor Taiwo Olufemi Asaolu;
2.Registrar: Mr. Funso Olawale Ojo
3. Bursar: Dr. Mukaila Oyesegun Oyekanmi
4. Librarian: Mr. Adewale Amobi Ogunsipe
Taiwo Asaolu is a professor of accounting and finance. He is also a Fellow (FCA) of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria.
A former Dean of the Faculty of Administration, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun state, Prof Asaolu was the Chairman of the University of Ilesa Review Committee which was set up by Governor Adeleke to address all outstanding issues for the eventual take off of the University’ the statement noted.
With the development recorded on Thursday, the university’s principal officers-designate have been supplanted by the newly appointed principal officers.
It will be recalled that the Chairman of the university’s implementation committee, Professor Olú Aina had while presenting the committee’s report to the immediate past governor, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola in November 2022 announced the following people as principal officers-designate; Professor Kayode Ijaduola- VC, Oluwole Olalere Dada –Registrar, Mukaila Oyekanmi- Bursar, Dr Helen Komolafe Opadeji- Librarian, Dr Adedokun Oluwafemi Ojelabi- Director of Academic Planning, Babatunde Mathew – Director of Public Relations.
