A socio-political group: the Ijesa Amalgamated Patriotic Front ( IAPF) on Sunday cautioned the Asiwaju of Ijesaland, Chief Yinka Fasuyi, against criticizing Governor Ademola Adeleke unfairly in respect of his actions and decisions on the newly established University of Ilesa, Ilesa.
IAPF in a joint statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com by its President, Dr. Oguntimi Abdul fatai and Secretary General, Deacon Olorunfemi Alimi , asserted that the governor deserves to be commended rather than being criticized.
‘The attention of the Ijesa Amalgamated Patriotic Front ( IAPF) has been drawn to the recent fire brigade approach of the Asiwaju of Ijesaland, Yinka Fasuyi, through which he intends to stampede and browbeat, His Excellency, Senator Nurudeen Jackson Ademola, Governor of Osun state with regard to the University of Ilesa project that is being built steadily by the current government.
Why is Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi trying to twist the governor’s arm with his parochial interest or trying to jump the gun in respect of the dynamic and focused administrative plan being followed by the current State Government, knowing full well that the plan for the establishment of the University of llesa was only initiated and partially kick -started by the ex- Governor Adegboyega Oyetola administration on the 13th of March 2022?
Whereas it is worthy to mention that the former Gov Oyetola having spent eight years as former Governor Rauf Aregbesola’s chief of staff and a kitchen cabinet member in the said administration with an additional four years as governor of Osun state never took the University project seriously but was rather using it as a political tool to rule and divide the Ijesa people.
Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi started his present game of unwarranted politicizing of the University of Ilesa project, when he embarked on campaign of calumny, just when Governor Nurudeen Adeleke had barely completed 100 days in office; saying the Adeleke Government has failed the ljesa people.
And just when Governor Nurudeen Adeleke had shown absolute commitment to reviving the University of Ilesa project on the 13th of April, 2023, with the subsequent appointment of Professor Taiwo Asaolu as the Vice – Chancellor; and other principal officers of the University, Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi again went berserk calling the governor unprintable names, in spite of his progressive pragmatic action.
Today, the University of Ilesa is being built gradually, even as academic activity is about to commence there, we therefore wonder why Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi is constantly on the neck of Governor Nurudeen Adeleke, who has not even spent one year in office, whereas his predecessor couldn’t do much concerning the University as it was just an afterthought project to the administration in question.
The Ijesa Amalgamated Patriotic Front is deeply disturbed that Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi is chewing more than he can with regard to his virulent criticism of Governor Adeleke over the University of Ilesa project.
We are worried about this man’s sickening exhibition of irrationalism and parochialism; he has become a desperate adversary to the principles of fair play and systemic commitment to democratic dividends in Osun State.
It is clear that he has become a running dog for some faceless opposition politicians, who are not happy with the developmental strides of Governor Adeleke within a very short time in office; Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi has unfortunately become a community nuisance opposed to the energy and synergy of the patriotic Ijesa people.
This man is a two- faced individual out to condemn the noble idea of Governor Adeleke at all cost, who has simply improved on the half -baked idea of his predecessor by cleaning and revitalizing the University of Ilesa project for the people of Ijesaland in Osun state.
There is always room for improvement in life , but the state of the University project has enjoyed inclusive contribution from eminent scholars in Osun state; we will not allow this man to hold the governor to ransom because he is hiding behind a cloak.
We therefore use this medium to urge Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi to join a political party, as he has the right to do so as an individual, instead of fighting recklessly for his own personal agenda.
This is drawing the attention of well- meaning Nigerians, especially patriotic ljesa people all over the world to the sinister agenda of this man, so that he would not jeopardize the vision of the current administration for the ljesa people.
The fact of the matter is that there is a new Sheriff in town, it will never be business as usual; ljesa people should assiduously reciprocate the kind gesture of Governor Nurudeen Adeleke, in order to gain more from his administration.
Actually, both the Osun state lawmakers and their counterparts in the National Assembly, who are from the state, should shun politics of bitterness, and join hands with others to bring more dividends of democracy to ljesaland in particular and Osun state in general.
Finally, we call on Asiwaju Yinka Fasuyi to discontinue with his outrageous use of freedom of speech, stop being an instrument of falsehood, misinformation, cheap blackmail, propaganda and witch- hunting in Osun state’ the group submitted- Team@orientactualmags.com
