Unresolved Grievance: Hotel Manager Kills POS Agent After Tricking Her Into Room In Delta

Iboirode, the manager of Century Home Hotel, Owehlogbo, Isoko North Local Government, Delta State, has been arrested and taken into custody by the police.

He would be facing murder charges.

Iboirode has been accused of killing a 22-year-old woman, Onoriode Bethel, who he later buried secretly with the knowledge of his wife.

The victim, a POS agent, had been declared missing in December 2024.

 Iboirode has reportedly confessed to tricking Bethel into the hotel and killing her.

Team@orientactualmags.com learned that Spokesperson for the Delta State Police Command, SP Bright Edafe disclosed this in Asaba on Tuesday.

‘The suspect murdered Bethel and buried her body within the hotel premises’ Edafe said.

Police said the suspect killed the young woman as a result of an unresolved grievance.

 Bethel had accused him of using a fake bank alert to steal N10,000 from her bank account although she reportedly recovered the money later,  the suspect  felt the incident had tarnished his reputation and took a decision to punish her.

‘My husband called her into the hotel; she is a friend of his. That day, he called her on the phone and took her into a room. It was about 7 pm one evening. I don’t know how he killed her because I was in our room. It was when he came out around midnight that he told me he had killed her’ the suspect’s wife said.

Iboirode had later used Bethel’s mobile phone to contact her father and demand a ransom.

 ‘He used her phone to call her father, demanding ransom. He even used her POS to collect the money, extracted the password from the girl before killing her.
