Veteran Politician Shuaib Oyedokun Proposes ‘Mafikuyomi’As Wall Inscription At Newly Inaugurated Southwest PDP Secretariat

One of the prominent politicians in the country, Alhaji Shuaib Oyedokun  on Saturday, commended Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State for promoting ‘reward system’ through the building of a new Southwest PDP secretariat in Ibadan, the state capital, in honour of late Hon Soji Adagunodo.

Hon Soji Adagunodo, was until his death on May 9 , 2023, the  PDP National Vice Chairman, Southwest .

Alhaji Shuaib Oyedokun noted that Governor Makinde has proved himself as a good person by not abandoning the late Adagunodo while also commending him for taking steps to keep his memory alive.

The prominent political figure submitted in an interview with Team@orientactualmags.com on Saturday that the ill-treatment the late Adagunodo allegedly suffered at the hands of current leaders of the ruling party in Osun State after his demise, was one of the reasons that made him, and some other political leaders feel  extremely angry  and this had resulted in their eventual decision to leave the PDP for APC.

‘Yes, I am no longer a member of PDP, I left a few months ago and I have never at any point in time, regretted my action, it was a noble action. Anyway, the matter at hand is not about political parties but rather about individuals.

Iam very happy that the magnificent building that was built in honour of late Adagunodo has been inaugurated today.

Adagunodo was the one who rescued Governor Ademola Adeleke from a precarious situation by making him get Osun West PDP senate nomination when he could not get it where he had first sought for it.

We all know that it was his becoming a senator that made it easy for him to become a governor, yet they made Adagunodo suffer ill-treatment even in death.

We thank God that Governor Seyi Makinde and Prince Dotun Babayemi  have continued to help to honour him and keep his memory alive.

I commend Governor Seyi Makinde for seeing that Adagunodo’s role was beyond Osun State and for consequently getting such an edifice put in place in his honour.

I thank him for remembering Adagunodo’s life and legacy and I specially express my gratitude to him for appointing Adagunodo’s son as his Special Adviser.

I will like to propose that ‘Mafikuyomi’ should be incised into a metal plate and placed at the entrance to the chairman’s office or a hall within the newly inaugurated secretariat in order to assuage and soothe grief and pains on the part of Adagunodo’s supporters, cognizant that their leader was unjustly made to suffer degrading and ill- treatment.

That Governor Ademola Adeleke attended the event today is however gratifying’ he said.
