Veteran Politician Shuaib Oyedokun Wishes ‘Agba-Oye’ Bisi Akande ‘A Happy Birthday’
Alhaji Shuaib Afolabi Oyedokun, a veteran politician, has sent a message of congratulations to Chief Bisi Akande on his 86th birthday.
Chief Bisi Akande turns 86 tomorrow, Thursday, January 16, 2025.
In a statement issued on Wednesday night titled ‘Birthday Felicitation To my Brother, Friend and Leader: Àgbà – Oye Bisi Akande’, Alhaji Shuaib Oyedokun not only wished the former governor a happy birthday but also urged him to lead others in ensuring that APC returns to power, and that Osun is made to become an APC-controlled state in 2026.
‘Here, I am at Midnight vigil, 16th day of January 2025 to celebrate you as you gradually move into this God-given Grace of a ‘Nonagenarian Cadre’. Thanks to the Almighty Allah who has preserved you to live this long and still counting, in good health, sound mind and productive energy.
Your Excellency, you need to be congratulated and thankful to God that you are living a life worthy of emulation. With a focused mind, you have succeeded in building a Nation. You have succeeded in leading and galvanizing the Progressives into a formidable Political Party which succeeded in ousting an equally formidable incumbent Government.
That was not just a mere feat.
Having achieved the great feat in question, let me use the occasion of your Birthday to admonish that, there is still one at your feet, which is to get OSUN State returned to your hands in order to complete a circle of your destined Leadership. I respectfully urge you to re- energize to save Osun State in the 2026 governorship election in which Project you will find in me and other well- meaning Party leaders a dedicated collaboration.
Behold! Your days will be longer, sweeter and rewarding.
I recall that I was physically present with you during your 85th birthday that was grandly celebrated in Ibadan. That was even when I never anticipated joining your Party, the APC. Now that it is incumbent on me to be at your side today, unfortunately I cannot make it. But I am profoundly with you in spirit. Chief Bisi Akande served as Deputy Governor of old Oyo State between 1982 and 1983 and governor of Osun State from 1999 to 2003.
He was also the pioneer National Chairman of APC.
