Bayer Leverkusen forward Victor Boniface has expressed his unwavering commitment to the growth and progress of the nation’s football team, the Super eagles despite not scoring goals for the team as he had desired.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned that Victor who said this while talking to Oma Akatugba, a sports journalist, on Thursday acknowledged the mixed reactions to his performances for Nigeria but said he remains grateful and proud to wear the green and white jersey, a dream he had since childhood.
The 24-year-old footballer noted that his commitment to the team has never been in doubt despite facing challenges in respect of converting chances on the big stage.
‘I have been unlucky with the national team in terms of scoring goals, even though there were a couple of games where I was not good.
My biggest dream as a football player was to represent my country, and I achieved this, and I am grateful for this.
Because it has not worked well for me with the national team does not mean I am a bad player’ Boniface said.
The young footballer also commented about his soccer career in respect of his new club and the failed attempt to join AC Millan.
‘When the Milan deal didn’t go through, I was just relaxing with my friends. Things like that happen in football all the time.
I love Germany. I really do.
I missed a lot of games but still scored eight goals. I don’t understand how that became a bad season.
I came from humble beginnings. I’ve faced tough injuries that could have ended my career, so, every day I’m thankful to God. Being here is already a blessing’ he submitted-Team@orientactualmags.com Do you have any information you wish to share with us? Do you want us to cover your event or programme?
