Wadata Plaza Siege: PDP Chooses New Venue For BoT Meeting…We Were There To ‘Maintain Order’-Police

The nation’s leading opposition party, PDP, was made to choose a new venue for the meeting of members of its Board of Trustees on Monday following the siege laid to its national secretariat- Wadata Plaza, Abuja.

Team@orientactualmags.com learned that the party did this via a Facebook post titled, ‘Special Announcement! Change of Venue for the PDP Board of Trustees (BoT) Meeting’.

‘The Meeting of the Board of Trustees (BoT) Meeting of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), earlier scheduled to hold at 10 am at the Party’s National Secretariat in Abuja has been moved to YarAdua Center, Central Business District, Abuja.

All BOT members are by this notice advised to proceed to the new venue’ the party said.

Security agents reportedly sealed off Wadata Plaza on Monday and stopped party leaders from gaining access to the building.

The police have however denied allegations raised by PDP and denied laying siege to Wadata Plaza.

Spokesperson for the FCT Police Command, SP Josephine Adeh described the allegations as ‘false and misleading, adding that it did not reflect the true situation on the ground.

‘The FCT Police Command is aware of the news making the rounds alleging that the Police sealed off the PDP secretariat in Wuse Zone 5, Abuja.

The command wishes to categorically state that this information is false, misleading, and does not reflect the true situation on the ground.

Police officers were only deployed to the venue to maintain law and order and ensure public safety in line with their constitutional mandate. At no time was the secretariat sealed off by the Police.

The Commissioner of Police, FCT, urges media outlets to verify information through the office of the command police public relations officer before disseminating’ Josephine submitted in a statement she issued in Abuja on Monday -Team@orientactualmags.com Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
