Sarkin Sasa ‘Unknown’, We Only ‘Recognize’ Baale Of Sasa -Olubadan

The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, has clarified and asserted that the title of ‘Sarkin Sasa’ is not recognized by the Ibadan Traditional Chieftaincy Law noting that only the Baale of Sasa, Chief Akinade Ajani Amusa is recognized as his representative in Sasa, Akinyele Local Government, Oyo State.

Team@orientactualmags.com learned that this declaration was made during the Olubadan-In-Council meeting, at Olubadan’s Palace, Oke Aremo,  Ibadan on Monday.

Recall that Sarkin Sasa, Alhaji Haruna Maiyasin Katsina had died on March 2,2025, and one of his sons, Ahmed Haruna (Ciroma), was unanimously nominated as the new Sarkin Sasa by the family and the traditional councils of the 17 Southern states without the consent of Olubadan.

The monarch’s Chief Press Secretary, Gbenga Ayoade, noted in a statement on Tuesday that everyone in Sasa is under the authority of the Baale of Sasa land.

‘Chief Akinade Ajani Amusa is the recognized Baale of Sasa land in the Akinyele Local Area of the state, and the accredited representative of the Olubadan of Ibadanland.

Let it be noted that any individual or group of persons in Sasa land are under the authority of the Baale of Sasa land; Akinade Ajani.

It is therefore imperative to accord him the appropriate respect and authority.
