We Told Ajimobi That Adelabu‘ll Not Win 2019 Oyo Guber Election-Former Chief Of Staff
Late Alhaji Isiaka Abiola Ajimobi was told that an opinion poll had made it clear that Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu will lose the 2019 Oyo State gubernatorial election if nominated as candidate by the APC but he however ignored the warning, Professor Emmanuel Ojo, has said.

Ojo, a Professor of Political Science at the University of Ilorin, was the Chief of Staff, Government House, Ibadan during Abiola Ajimobi’s governorship.
Late Alhaji Isiaka Abiola Ajimobi was the governor of Oyo State between 2011 and 2019.

Team@orientactualmags.com reports that Professor Emmanuel Ojo, who said this while delivering his keynote speech during the roundtable attended by Commissioners and Permanent Secretaries in Kwara State at Wingate Hotel, Ilorin on Wednesday, noted that it was surprising that the late Ajimobi chose to ignore the warning cognizant that an opinion poll conducted ahead of the 2015 guber election had said the former governor will get 33% and win re-election which was exactly what eventually happened.

Professor Ojo also emphasized the need for political parties and people in positions of authority to hold opinion polls before elections as this will serve as a platform to know what the people really want and their possible grievances.
‘Ahead of the 2015 General Election, we got to know that northerners living in Oke-Ogun axis will not vote for us and when we decided to take remedial measures we were told that they were not pleased with our government because we had not done anything for them directly and when we asked what they needed ? It was salt to deworm their cows and we made provision for this immediately’ he said.
Professor Ojo also urged people in positions of authority to maintain communication with the citizens and not wait until electioneering period before visiting them as this will serve as important means of getting feedback.
Political office holders should also according to him allow journalists to have unrestricted access to them as this will help to ‘kill’ a wrong insinuation at the embryonic stage and also make it easy to provide a clarification when necessary without delay.
The Unilorin professor also urged people in positions of authority to etch their names in history by either initiating or taking iconic projects to completion citing the Cocoa House which was initiated by late Chief Obafemi Awolowo as Premier of Western Region and taken into completion in July 1964 by late Chief Ladoke Akintola.
He also called the flyovers in Unity and Tipper Garage , Ilorin which were constructed by the Governor Abdulrahman AbdulRazaq administration ‘iconic projects’-Team@orientactualmags.com Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
