We Took ‘Collective Decision’ To Sack Our Aides-Edo Assembly Speaker

Speaker of Edo State House of Assembly, Hon Blessing Agbebaku on Wednesday announced that a decision has been taken to sack all the aides of the state lawmakers.

Team@orientactualmags.com learned that Speaker Blessing Agbebaku, announced this decision during the plenary session she presided over on Wednesday while noting that it was a collective decision taken by the 24 members of the House of Assembly.

The affected political appointees, she noted, would however receive their February salary.

He listed the appointees to include special advisers, and senior special assistants, among others, who were appointed in June 2023.

‘This is to announce the sack of all political appointees attached to members of the House.

I think, it is two years now, and I think the House has graciously agreed that those sets of appointees SAs and SSAs should be relieved of their appointments today, February 19.We will meet consequently to know the next line of action to take on that. They will receive this month’s February salary’ she submitted.

The House of Assembly also passed a resolution recommending that security personnel who have spent over five years at any locality in the state should be transferred forthwith.

The resolution followed a motion raised by Osezua Ojezele, who represents Esan South-East Constituency.
