We’ll Hold Your Son Responsible If Any Harm Comes To My Namesake, Atiku Tells President Tinubu…Ladoja Is ‘Authentic’ NANS President-Odunjo Adio

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar on Friday warned that Mr Seyi Tinubu , son of President Bola Tinubu, will be held responsible if any harm comes to Comrade Atiku Isah, the factional president of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS).

In a statement issued by his media adviser, Paul Ibe, on Friday, Alhaji Atiku warned that Nigeria should not be treated as ‘personal property’ while condemning the alleged attempt by  Mr Seyi Tinubu to determine who should get recognized as NANS leaders.

‘President Bola Ahmed Tinubu must urgently rein in his family members, particularly his son, Seyi Tinubu, who appears determined to purchase political loyalty for his father by any means necessary, including coercion, violence, and intimidation.

 The serious allegations made by the President of the National Association of Nigerian Students, Comrade Atiku Isah — alleging physical assault, abduction, and inducement at the hands of Seyi Tinubu — are deeply alarming and strike at the core of democratic norms and civil liberty. That such grave accusations are being levelled against a member of the first family is both disturbing and dangerous.

Had this incident ended fatally, it would have been recorded among the growing list of atrocities committed by criminal elements in the country. That it is allegedly tied to the President’s own son makes it even more horrifying. What’s worse is the emerging suggestion that even top security officials are not beyond Seyi Tinubu’s overreaching influence — an unacceptable compromise of state institutions.

It is intolerable that the first family would seek to subjugate the NANS — or any civil society group — through threats, bribes, or brute force. Nigeria is a democratic republic, not a monarchy handed down to one family’ he said.

The former Vice President Atiku also clarified that Isah is not serving as tools emphasizing that his stance and the allegations he has raised should be assessed based on facts, and not falsehoods.

‘Well-meaning Nigerians must rise to speak out. The actions of the President’s family — specifically their rabid drive to consolidate political power through manipulation and fear — must be condemned unequivocally. We must remind them that the presidency is a public trust, not a private inheritance.

Attempts to drag former Vice President Atiku Abubakar into this scandal by alleging a political alliance with Comrade Isah are baseless, malicious, and desperate. Atiku Abubakar’s meeting with Isah was centered solely on education reform and improving student welfare, which also includes institutions he founded, like the American University of Nigeria and AUN Academy.

Comrade Isah’s advocacy and public stance must be evaluated based on fact, not fiction. The allegations of abuse he has made demand an independent investigation, especially since the very agencies meant to protect citizens appear complicit in his ordeal.

We issue a clear warning: nothing must happen to this young man. Any harm to him will not go unnoticed or unchallenged. Nigerians deserve truth, accountability, and a leadership that respects the rule of law — not a regime that weaponises power to silence dissent’ the statement added.

Recall that Comrade Atiku Isah had in Abuja on Wednesday alleged that Mr Seyi Tinubu  attempted to bribe him with N100 million in Lagos to publicly support the president.

Isah claimed that he however turned down the offer because he could not have endorsed a president who has failed to deliver on his campaign promises.

Isah further alleged that he was assaulted, stripped, and abducted by thugs on April 15 because he had rejected the request made to him to declare support for the president.

Mr Seyi Tinubu on Friday however alleged that Isah is seeking to stain his reputation submitting that he has never met him.

In a telephone interview with Team@orientactualmags.com on Friday night, Comrade Odunjo Adio, who was the Secretary  of the Central Planning Committee for the 2025 NANS Election , asserted that Mr Olusola Ladoja is the authentic NANS president while disclosing that Comrade Isah was not at the election venue and did not participate in the election and could not have therefore declared himself as president.

‘He did not participate in the election, he was not at the venue, and since he announced himself as factional president,  he has not visited any campus to advocate for Nigerian students, he has only positioned himself as the voice of the opposition parties, he is serving as tools, he is being used by Natasha, Atiku and Sowore.

He should stop calling himself our national president,  Mr Seyi does not even know him, so,  how could he have attacked him? The two of them have never met.

You, see, it is sad that lies do travel fast, somebody who did participate in an election suddenly declared himself president and this is trending.

  I was the secretary of the committee that oversaw and supervised the election, I  have the necessary  documents, you see, out of the 15 people who sought to become president , he is the only one opposing Ladoja, others are now working with him.
