What I Learned From Al Pacino In ‘The Devil’s Advocate’,-Gov Fubara

Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers state, has disclosed that he learned important lessons from ‘The Devil’s Advocate’ a movie that was released on October 17 , 1997.

He also submitted that the tempo of ‘political crisis’ in the state has reduced which has allowed his administration to provide a focused leadership and governance to the people.

Team@orientactualmags.com learned that Fubara’s Chief Press Secretary, Mr Nelson Chukwudi, in a statement he issued on Sunday noted that the governor said this while playing host to members of the Committee on Public Petitions , House of Representatives , who were led by Rep Mike Etaba, at the Government House , Port Harcourt on Saturday.

Governor Fubara submitted that as long as his administration and the Rivers people are concerned, there is no more a big political issue in the state .

‘As far as we are concerned, there are no political issues. I had seen a movie many years ago, titled, ‘ The Devil’s Advocate.’ I believe some of you must have seen that movie too.
One of the starring characters: Al Pacino said, that pressure makes some people retreat or fail, and to others, it makes them become focused on succeeding. We have chosen to be focused under this pressure.
That is why we are moving ahead. That is why we are making a positive impact in the lives of our people. Governance is about the people. It is not about yourself.

Governance is about touching the core needs of those people we are leading, and by the special grace of God, we are doing it’ the statement quoted Fubara to have submitted.

The governor also noted that the empowerment of about 3,066 Micro, Small, and Medium-sized Enterprises when he flagged off the N4billion single-digit loan scheme in conjunction with the Bank of Industry Limited on Friday, is one of the steps taken by his administration to improve the lives of the people of the state.
