Why I Didn’t Visit Ataoja’s Palace Ahead Of 2023 National Assembly Elections… Aregbesola’s Membership Of APC Now ‘In Doubt’- Bashiru Ajibola

Hon Bashiru Ajibola, who was the spokesman for the ninth Nigerian senate, submitted on Wednesday that Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola’s membership of the ruling APC ‘ is open to question’.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned that Ajibola, who represented Osun Central in the senate between 2019 and 2023, said this in Osogbo during the programme he held to explain how well he had served his constituents.
The former senator has also asserted that the APC ‘is one in Osun’ under Chief Bisi Akande and Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola’s leadership.
‘APC is one in Osun and as far as I am concerned I do not know any splinter groups in the party. . There is no faction in Osun state APC, but only one party. Chief Bisi Akande and Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola are our party leaders in the state’ he said.
Responding to a reporter’s question on why he didn’t include the former Interior minister among the party leaders he had thanked for their support, Ajibola, who served as Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General under Aregbesola, said the former governor’s membership of the APC has become very uncertain.
‘Asiwaju Bola Tinubu contested on the same day that I contested the National Assembly election, our former Minister, the former leader was not around to vote for his benefactor and mentor.
It is on record that he didn’t come to campaign, he didn’t come to support the party and he didn’t even come to cast his vote for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
We also had the House of Assembly election, did he go to vote on the Election Day? So, nobody is aggrieved. I am not certainly aggrieved. We that are here are the genuine members of the APC. So, these are the genuine members. Those that are not genuine, go and ask them why they are not genuine.
I told you the immediate past Minister of Interior was our leader, but I don’t know which party he belongs to now. I don’t know. Quote me, he was our leader but I don’t know which party he belongs to. For the past three elections, we have not seen him participate in any of our party’s activities’ he said.
The former commissioner also disclosed that he chose not to visit the palace of Ataoja of Osogbo, Oba Jimoh Olanipekun, to seek his support ahead of the Osun Central senate election held on February 25 , 2023, because the Osogbo monarch had not shown the required impartiality–Team@orientactualmags.com
