Why I Want The South To Retain ‘Presidency’ In 2027-Former Gov Ortom
The southern part of the country must be allowed to rule the nation beyond 2027 to ensure fairness, immediate past governor of Benue State, Mr Samuel Ortom, has submitted.
The south, he added, must be allowed to complete its two terms before presidency will return to the north.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned that Mr Samuel Ortom, who said this during a media parley in Makurdi on Thursday, also noted that he will not support the candidacy of anyone from the north in 2027.
‘Till today, I, Ortom, believe in southern presidency, even if my party (PDP) is producing a candidate for presidency in 2027, the candidate must be from the South. The South should be allowed to complete eight years. So, for me, I am not supporting a northern candidate’ he said.
Mr Ortom, who condemned the Muhammadu Buhari administration alleging that the retired General took the country from ‘top to bottom’, however lauded the economic policies of the Tinubu administration.
The former Benue State governor also said he is neither in support of the ‘opposition alliance’ against President Tinubu nor a member of the ADC.
‘The Tinubu administration is doing well; he is ensuring that the rule of law prevails, and this is good for our country.
The oil industry had been a place where a few cliques siphoned our common wealth, but with the removal of subsidies, there is a lot of money in all the states.
The president even stated this during his visit to Benue at the height of the killing of our people in Yelwata, where he said that no state would say it doesn’t have money to pay salaries.
I remain a member and leader of Peoples Democratic Party; I am even a board member of my party and I don’t believe in coalition but where there’s need for strategic partnership, you will see me there’ he added–Team@orientactualmags.com Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
