A youth group in Patigi, the Better Patigi Initiative (BPI), has given its take on the planned defection of Alhaji Adamu Atahiru Manko from SDP to APC submitting that despite overtures made to them by the young politician in question, young people in the town will however not join him to defect to APC
Alhaji Adamu Manko was the Kwara North SDP Senate candidate in the 2023 National Assembly elections.
BPI in a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com by its chairman, Comrade Al-Hasaan Tsado, who is from Kpada Ward 11, alleged that Hon Manko is not joining APC in order to advance the development and growth of Patigi but to rather satisfy his personal interest while also citing the frosty relationship between Alhaji Sule Ahman and late Ahman Bhago Patigi.
‘It has come to our attention that Adamu Attahiru Manko is set to officially declare his intention to join the APC tomorrow. As young men from the community, we want to express our stance on this matter.
We acknowledge that Adamu has reached out to us multiple times, urging us to join him in defecting to the APC, asserting that he could use this platform to mobilize grassroots support. However, we have made it clear that we cannot align ourselves with a party that has contributed to the suffering of our people, impoverishing our mothers and turning our youths to beggars.
If Adamu truly believes in serving humanity, aligning with a party that has made life increasingly difficult for the people of Patigi is not a viable option. It is evident that his upcoming decision is driven by personal interests rather than the welfare of our community.
We wish him all the best as he embarks on this self-serving journey, but we, the Patigi youths, will not join him.
Even if we have to choose to ignore some of the reasons to embark on this Hon Manko’s self-serving journey, we cannot ignore the fact that Alhaji Sule Ahman would be one of the elders that would coordinate us. This was the same man that disliked Hon Ahman Bahago till death and now the same man using Hon Ahman Bahago as the settling point to bring people onboard for Manko. This is the highest level of hypocrite and we as youth movement in Patigi cannot stand to watch this.
