Wike vs Fubara: APC National Secretary Condemns Victor Giadom’s ‘So-Called Governor’ Comments, Says It’s Disrespectful

APC National Secretary, Barrister Ajibola Basiru on Sunday condemned the comments made by the party’s National Vice Chairman (South South) , Hon Victor Giadom, submitting that his actions are unacceptable and unbecoming.

Barrister Ajibola Basiru, a former senator, noted that calling a sitting governor ‘so –called governor’ is disrespectful and contemptuous.

Team@orientactualmags.com learned that the APC National Secretary, who commented on the issue in a Facebook post on Sunday, also noted that all sitting governors deserve respect whether they are members of the ruling party or not.

‘I find it unfortunate that a member of the NWC, who is the Vice Chairman of the South-South zone of the APC, was referring to a governor in our party as a ‘so-called governor of Rivers State’. No matter what his allegiances are to anybody, it is unbecoming of somebody holding such a sensitive position, and it should not be encouraged by anybody.

Even if the governor is not in our party, you can’t refer to an elected governor as a ‘so-called governor’ in order to please anybody. The office of the governor is an exalted position, and whoever is occupying it must be respected, irrespective of whatever political differences you have or whatever animosity exists between them,”

Recall that Hon. Victor Giadom had submitted last week that Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State must channel whatever he wants to do in the party through the FCT minister, Barrister Nyesom Wike or else he will hit a brick wall.

Giadom said this during Wike’s Thank -You Visit to the people of Gokana Local Government, Rivers State last week Tuesday.

‘I guarantee, on behalf of my brothers, that the Gokana people are for Wike and Tinubu and nobody will challenge Wike’s influence in Gokana.

Gokana is a ‘no go area’ for anybody, even Governor Fubara.
