Woman, Boyfriend Steal Neighbour’s 6-Year-Old Daughter In Akwa Ibom…They Sold Their Baby For N450, 000 Last Year-Police

A young woman, Christiana Ibanga, and her boyfriend, Inyene Akpan, have been arrested and taken into custody by the police in Akwa Ibom State.
They have been accused of stealing their neighbour’s 6-year-old daughter who was later sold to someone in Aba, Abia State
Police had since launched a manhunt for the buyer after Christiana and Inyene were arrested in Abuja.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned that spokesperson for the state Police command, DSP Timfon John presented the suspects to the public at the command headquarters, Ikot-Akpanabia, Uyo, on Wednesday.
Timfon said Christiana and her boyfriend were arrested following a complaint from a woman (name withheld), who alleged that Ibanga tricked her six-year-old daughter into following her to an unknown destination where she was sold to a waiting buyer.
‘On June 15, 2024, a woman from Afaha Atai Village, Ibesikpo Asutan LGA, reported that one Christiana Uwem Ibanga of Ekamba Nsukara Village, Uyo LGA, tricked her six-year-old daughter into an undisclosed location.
Acting swiftly, our operatives launched an investigation and arrested Ibanga and her boyfriend, Inyene Etuk Akpan, on January 14, 2025, in Abuja’ the PRO said.
During custodial interrogation, the suspects reportedly confessed to selling their own child for ₦450,000 in May 2024, through the help of one Saviour Aniedi.
Ibanga further confessed to conspiring with Aniedi and his wife to steal the complainant’s child, who was later sold to a buyer in Aba, Abia State..
‘On January 23, 2025, our investigators extended their operations to Aba in pursuit of the buyer and the missing child.
