Workshop On National Digital Economy, E-Governance Bill 2024 Held In Birni Kebbi

The National Digital Economy and E-Governance Bill, 2024, is set to revolutionize government operations, public service delivery, and business processes across the country. 

A statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com noted that this was emphasized by stakeholders during a one-day workshop organized to enlighten the public on the importance of the bill at Saffar Guest Inn, Birnin Kebbi, on Tuesday.

 The event was attended by key officials and experts in the field of digital transformation.

Speaking at the workshop, Kebbi State Commissioners for Digital Economy, Alhaji Muhammad Ibrahim Muhammad, and Higher Education, Alhaji Isah Abubakar Tunga, highlighted the importance of fostering a digital society while noting that the bill provides strategies to enhance the adoption of Information Technology in government services and drive economic growth through digital innovation.

They also called on residents of Kebbi State to embrace digital technology as a means of improving public services, boosting economic competitiveness, and positioning Nigeria as a leader in the global digital economy.

Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Digital Economy, Alhaji Aliyu Daudu Zagga, and Chairman of  Kebbi State Persons with Disability Commission, Malam Anas Malami Gwandu, described the initiative as a welcome development. 

They emphasized the need for government agencies and stakeholders to create frameworks that will enhance Nigeria’s digital infrastructure and public services.

Mr. Jeffrey Nwalima from Duale Ovia and Alex Adedipe in his keynote speech underscored the importance of the digital economy. 

He noted that the bill aims to facilitate digital transformation in public institutions, making government processes more efficient and fostering e-governance capacity building.

Participants at the workshop praised the initiative and discussed the bill’s potential to improve international digital trade and investments. They emphasized the need for widespread public enlightenment, especially in rural areas, to ensure inclusivity in the digital transition.
