Yoruba People Living In Kebbi Declare Continued Support For Gov Nasir Idris Administration

The Yoruba people living in Kebbi State have reaffirmed their unwavering support for the Governor Nasir Idris administration, praising its commitment to inclusivity and development.

The governor’s Special Adviser on Media, Mr Yahaya Sarki noted in a statement he issued in Birni Kebbi and made available to Team@orientactualmags.com that the Sarkin Yarbawa of Kebbi, Sa’idu Sakibu said this on behalf of the Yooruba community while receiving the Commissioner for Religious Affairs, Arc. Muhammad Sani Aliyu and the governor’s Special Adviser on Religious Affairs, Engr. Imran Usman, who were on an inspection visit to the ongoing construction of the Ansarul Islam Mosque (Masallacin Sarkin Yarbawa) in Birnin Kebbi.

He expressed gratitude to Governor Idris for including the mosque in the state’s 100-mosque rehabilitation project.

‘For a long time, the Yoruba community in Birnin Kebbi had yearned for this mosque, and it was only made possible under the Kauran Gwandu administration.

The governor has not forgotten us. He has shown us kindness, and we reaffirm our full support for his administration and his second-term bid’ he added.

The Sarkin Yarbawa also disclosed that the Yoruba community had been reciting the entire Qur’an every two weeks  praying for the governor’s success, this, he noted, will henceforth be done weekly

He  however expressed the need to upgrade the mosque into Jumu’a status in order to allow Friday prayers and its inclusion in the Ramadan feeding programme.

The Imam of the mosque, Alfa AbdulFatah Salahuddin, and the Yoruba women’s leader also offered prayers for the governor’s continued success, good health, and wisdom.

Commissioner for Religious Affairs, Arc. Muhammad Sani Aliyu, relayed Governor Idris’ appreciation to the Yoruba community and encouraged them to sustain their prayers. On the request to make the mosque earn a Jumu’a status, he advised them to submit an official application to the ministry and fulfill the necessary requirements.

Also speaking, Engr. Imran Usman, disclosed that three Yoruba mosques were included in the 100-mosque rehabilitation project, with Masallacin Sarkin Yarbawa being the largest, and this will cost ₦37 million.

‘This is the only mosque with an upstairs structure, a testament to the governor’s commitment to religious and community development’ he said.

The monitoring team, which included the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Muhammad Bala Tilli, also inspected other mosques in Birnin Kebbi and its environs. Imams and traditional leaders at the various sites expressed gratitude to Governor Idris for promoting religious values and prayed for his continued success.

Aliyu also urged residents of the state to remain steadfast in their prayers for the administration’s success and for divine guidance, strength, and good health for Governor Nasir Idris- Team@orientactualmags.com  Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
