Giving his speech, President Bola Tinubu ,who noted that the challenges are very daunting, added that long overdue reforms are however being carried out by his administration with the aim of transforming the nation’s economy and ensuring peace, safety and security in the country.
He said his administration has kept faith with objectives of the ‘Renew Hope’ agenda while noting that those chosen as ministers were considered for such a role because they are ideally suited for the job..
The president told the ministers to consider their appointment as a ‘call to service’ and not to see themselves as representatives of their states or regions but rather representatives of Nigeria as a whole.
He noted that while his administration had since coming on board three months ago, showed commitment to the Renew Hope agenda , the new ministers are expected to accelerate this and ensure that aspirations of Nigerians are met.
President Tinubu also told the cabinet members that ‘it is an honour to be chosen as ministers’ but ‘this comes with responsibilities’, while urging them to distinguish themselves and justify their appointment.
Nigerians according to him are not only expecting the new ministers to deliver but also expecting that they will see accountability, integrity and transparency. He also asked them to hit the ground running and make themselves ‘worthy in the eyes of the people’ and also be seen as a positive force for transformation-Team@orientactualmags.com
