Your Election Victory ‘Temporary’, Don’t Rejoice Yet , Osun APC Tells PDP
Citing what it described as ‘shameful, unmerited, inapposite, unjustified and unjustifiable display of euphoria over election victory’ Osun state APC on Sunday cautioned Governor Ademola Adeleke to rejoice moderately noting that the election victory in question had not changed his status as a sacked governor by virtue of the judgment delivered by the tribunal in January this year.
‘It would be recalled that the Osun State governorship election petition tribunal that sat in Osogbo sacked Adeleke as state governor with an order that the Independent National Election Commission (INEC) should immediately withdraw the certificate of return from him and give same to Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola, the winner of the election.
Adeleke is still clinging on to the governorship seat of the state by virtue of his pending appeal at the Court of Appeal of which the final addresses session was heard in Abuja last Monday.
The house of assembly elections which mostly qualified as a facade that were characterized by maximum violence, attacks, maiming, suppression, intimidation, bullying, browbeating, bullyragging and getting the voters of the APC extraction scared away by the thugs doing the bidding of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) were held across the state yesterday where the PDP candidates fraudulently cleared many of the seats in the Assembly.
Adeleke and his co-travelers have been basking in the euphoria of the questionable electoral victory, claiming that it was as a result of his superlative performance within his 100 days in office.
And to rub salt to an injury, Adeleke even went as far as asking the APC to join and identify with his interim administration, forgetting that his name is written with an erasable pencil as the governor of Osun State’ the state Acting chairman of the APC, Sooko Tajudeen Lawal, submitted in a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com on Sunday.
APC also told Adeleke to let it exercise his mind that his administration ‘is clay-footed with so many hurdles to cross to remain as a valid governor of the state’.
Lawal cautioned Adeleke not to be carried away by what he called ‘disputable and suspicious victory of his party in the state assembly election’ arguing that the election victory could not stand the rigorous legal hurdles at the tribunal.
‘It is despicable that an interim governor could develop such a confidence and brashness to celebrate results of heavily compromised House of Assembly election when his own political fate is still sagging and hanging in the balance’ the statement added -Team@orientactualmags.com
