Kwara state PDP on Monday submitted that Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq was wrong to have claimed that he had made the state better off than it was during the PDP-led administrations in the state.
In a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com by the state Publicity Secretary, Hon Tunji Morounfoye, titled ‘Re-“Kwarans can see difference, won’t go back to own vomits: Abdulrazaq’ , the party described the assertions made by the governor as shocking.
PDP also claimed that the governor had been quoted to have denied connections with the promises made by APC leaders as guests on radio programmes during electioneering in 2019.
‘The Kwara state Peoples Democratic party (PDP) cannot but register our complete shock at the statement credited to Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, where he said the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) regime “had delivered pretty much on its campaign promises to the people. It was also reported that the Governor said his regime was “light-year(s) apart from its predecessors in meeting the basic needs of the populace and repositioning Kwara for sustainable growth”.
Need we remind the governor that he publicly in a statement said that, he never commissioned the radio gladiators of yore to make the promises they made during their pre- 2019 Elections radio programmes on his behalf. Mal. Abdulrazaq may also wish to be reminded that he was reported to have said that, he abandoned his party’s manifestos when he saw the funds available to do his job as Executive Governor of Kwara state.
Consequently Mal. Abdulrazaq likened the PDP’s comeback bid “to a person who defecated in a rented house and still wanted to occupy it after another person had carefully cleaned up the mess”. We at the PDP are not moved in the least by this analogy, as this wrapped analogy had rather appropriately described the current APC party regime led by Mal. Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq.
The current situation of Kwara state is simple; a guest to Ahmadu Bello way met a beautiful house and chose to destroy all special adornment to the house while blaming the last occupant for everything he does wrong. The visitor then proceeds to defecate in the magnificent living room in his ignorance and unteachable state, while still blaming the former occupants of the beautiful house for his ignorant behavior.
We all know that, ignorance can appear in three different types;
-Factual ignorance, which is absence of knowledge of some fact.
-Object ignorance, which is unacquaintance with some object.
– Technical ignorance, which is absence of knowledge of how to do something’ the statement said , while adding that the Mal Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq administration suffers from all the afore-mentioned types of ignorance .
‘In addition to the above we are also assuaged by another putrid propaganda chant; “They want to take us backwards. No, we have moved on in Kwara. Is it in education, water, worker’s welfare, rural urban development, or health? What was their record to deserve a comeback? the governor had queried, citing the record of achievements of his incumbent regime.
This hilarious statement was signed by Mr. Rafiu Ajakaye, the governor’s Chief Press Secretary on the 21st October, 2022.
We can only ask the APC party regime for which phantom record, in which sector of the Kwara state’s economy? Even with the combined revenue of close to half a trillion naira in just over three years in office. We are inundated with various civil servants unions’ protests about their welfare.
Till date there are no lists, locations and Bills of Quantities (BOQs) records of the over six hundred (600) phantom schools renovated under SUBEB funds with over 14 Billion naira, there are no results from the so-called hundreds of millions spent on the renovation of water works all over Kwara state. We all ply the abysmal pothole- infested roads everywhere in kwara state, even with an asphalt plant put in place by his immediate predecessor , Dr. Abdulfatah Ahmed. We are all forced to endure the filthy garbage mountains all over the Ilorin metropolitan areas , it’s a miracle that Kwara state hasn’t been hit by a disease contagion.
The insecurity in Kwara state is slowly, but surely spreading without the needed necessary, logistics Support provided by the APC party regime, to the gallant security agents operating in Kwara state’ the statement added.
The PDP also accused the Abdulrazaq administration of deliberately refusing to organize local government elections and thereby leaving the Transition implementation committees to be in charge of local governments in the state despite a Supreme Court judgment declaring such an action as illegal.
The party also cited statistical data released by National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) to prove that the current administration had not in any way made Kwara state better off.
‘ In addition to the above we are made aware of some statistical data released by National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) which shows that kwara state is the most Expensive State to Buy Food in Nigeria according to legit.ng
Legit.ng breakdown of the information about states with the highest and lowest food inflation rate as captured in latest statistical data by the NBS.
The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) has revealed that the average annual food inflation rate for the twelve-month period ending September 2022 increased to 23.34 per cent.
This is the highest level in over 13 years, demonstrating how economically stressed Nigerian and Kwara state households have become.
NBS stated this in its consumer Price Index report, published on its website on Tuesday, 18 October 2022.
States with the highest inflation as
BusinessDay reports that, NBS stated food inflation on a year-on-year basis was highest in Kwara (33.09%), Kogi (28.46%), and Ebonyi (27.41%).
While Kaduna (18.84%), Jigawa (19.20%) and Sokoto (19.44%) recorded the slowest rise on year-on-year food inflation’ the statement said.
The preceding administrations had according to the PDP worked tirelessly to control food and grain prices by forming committees comprising market women and other traders through the then Ministry of commerce and co-operatives. These committees, the statement noted, were empowered to purchase and use buffer stocks to control food and grains prices.
‘This is one of the past administration’s successes that the governor referred to as “Taking Kwara backwards”. If PDP is taking Kwara state backwards to the good times, then yes please! the party submitted.
The statement also claimed that nobody would consider voting for the APC in the upcoming general election going by the situation that currently obtains in the state-Team@orientactualmags.com Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
