Yuletide: Senator Francis Fadahunsi Distributes 3,000 Bags Of Rice To Osun East Residents
As the festive spirit of Christmas and New Year fills the air, Senator Francis Adenigba Fadahunsi has distributed 3,000 bags of rice to his constituents in order to ensure a happy Christmas and New Year celebrations.
The senator, who represents Osun East in the Senate, urged well –to- do Nigerians to attach importance to ‘reaching’ out to the poor and vulnerable members of society and easing things for them.
He also noted that the distribution of food items to the people during ‘festive season’ should though be encouraged but should however be done more frequently and not limited to a particular period.
A statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com by Mr Sam- Segun Progress on Monday noted that the senator, who was emotional when he saw the large number of people that had awaited his arrival in Ilase, his hometown for the year- end ceremony that he organizes for his constituents every year, said making people happy is a fulfillment of the promise he made to them.
‘When I saw the joy on the faces of the people and their anticipation I could not but wish that it is made a more regular kind gesture than what we do three or four times a year, while I am glad that we do this like four times in a year, I wish it is something that we have the capacity to do regularly because food is essential and should really be available to all’ he said.
The statement further noted that this year’s event coincided with the courtesy visit to the senator by market women leaders in the Osun East senatorial district.
The market women leaders visited the senator to thank him for his numerous contributions and support for market women in the senatorial district while calling for more of such gestures of goodwill.
Representatives from the 10 local governments in the senatorial district and Modakeke Area Office received 3,000 bags of rice during the event for onward distribution to their members.
