2027: Cohesion ‘Absent’ In Opposition Camp As Gov Bala Finally Settles For APM, Gov Makinde Remains In PDP…Obi, Kwankwaso To Leave ADC For NDC Monday
Signs abound on Saturday that the nation’s opposition camp is on shaky ground ahead of the 2027 presidential election as the opposition figures have failed to agree on the political party that will serve as a platform for the needed ‘unity of effort’ to dislodge the ruling APC.
While the ADC and PDP are still facing intraparty conflicts and the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) had emerged as the only popular opposition party that is free from intraparty conflict, Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has brought APM into Nigerians’ consciousness.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned that Governor Bala Mohammed, who announced his decision to leave PDP for the Allied Peoples Movement on Saturday during the meeting held with political stakeholders in Bauchi, said he had engaged and met with key stakeholders in Abuja for more than eight days now seeking to resolve intraparty conflict in PDP.
He noted that the Thursday’s Supreme Court ruling had nullified the parallel conventions held by rival factions in the PDP and effectively stripped both factions of legal standing, leaving the party’s Board of Trustees to temporarily oversee its affairs.
‘After careful consideration and wide consultations with leaders and stakeholders across the country, it has become clear that our efforts to restore stability have not yielded the desired results.
However, as responsible leaders, we cannot allow our people to be left without a credible and effective political platform.
We remain PDP at heart. We are leaving not out of bitterness, but out of necessity—to continue the struggle for good governance.
Consequently, after extensive consultations, we have taken a firm and strategic decision to join the Allied Peoples Movement’ he said.

APM National Chairman, Mr Yusuf Dantalle, who formally received the governor and his supporters into the party, said the APM is a clean, democratic party that is guided by the motto ‘Nigeria First’ with principles anchored on integrity, sacrifice, and service.
He praised Governor Bala Mohammed’s leadership style while asserting that Bauchi is a state where democratic values thrive and political participation is inclusive.
In another development that stands as an evidence that cohesion is absent in the opposition camp, a prominent politician, Alhaji Buba Galadima disclosed on Saturday that former governor of Anambra State, Chief Peter Obi and former governor of Kano State, Alhaji Rabiu Kwankwaso will be announcing their new political party on Monday.

He also gave a hint that there will be a presidential ticket that will feature Kwankwaso and Obi.
Kwankwaso and Obi, who were presidential candidates in the 2023 presidential election, had recently joined the ADC.

‘As from Monday, when our leaders declare on which platform they will run, I want to tell you that one of two things will happen. And I’m here to guide you on your response to what will happen.
First, they will sponsor columnists. Two, they will deploy social media influencers to start attacking our candidates. For all of you who are on social media and those you with the mighty pen, you must be prepared to respond to anything they are going to say.
Anything under the sun that they may say about our leaders that we know very well, people of integrity and honour, we must come to them with the ferociousness that is needed of an intelligent man.
For all of you who are on social media and those with the mighty pen, you must be prepared to respond to anything they are going to say. I’m sorry to bring up something that is not on the table, but I’m doing it as an example. If you have been following the US and the Iran war, you will remember that the US and Israel attacked first, and Iran responded.
The analogy I’m going to draw here is that don’t call anybody any name until they call our leaders names. Then we will respond with the greatest might of intellect in us. These are people who are living in their comfort zones, and they want to start a war. We will help them add kerosene. We are already lying flat on the floor. Are we afraid to fall? So, over to them’ he said-Team@orientactualmags.com Do you have any information you wish to share with us? Do you want us to cover your event or programme?
