2027 Kwara Guber: Group Drums Up Support For Speaker Yakubu Danladi, Cautions Political Actors Against ‘Explosive’ Statements
Ahead of the 2027 Kwara State governorship election, a group, the Edu and Patigi LGs APC Grassroots Mobilization Movement has urged members of the APC in Kwara Central and Kwara South to support Speaker Salihu-Yakubu Danladi’s candidacy while also emphasizing the need for party unity and cohesion.
Leader and Chief Coordinator of the group, Alhaji Mohammed Mariam Alhassan, and Secretary, Abubakar Zubair Shonga in a joint statement issued after the consultative meeting held in Patigi, Patigi local government on Sunday which was made available to Team@orientactualmags.com cautioned political actors against explosive statements and comments noting that securing victory for the APC in the 2027 general election should remain the common goal.
‘We respectfully appeal to our brothers and sisters across Kwara Central and Kwara South to support the Kwara North project in 2027. This appeal is founded on the spirit of reciprocity and our long-standing political relationships, particularly the support Kwara North had consistently extended to the emergence of governors from other senatorial districts since the beginning of the Fourth Republic.
We urge every son and daughter of Kwara North to embrace this historic opportunity with unity, discipline, and determination.
Having waited patiently for this moment, we must work collectively and peacefully to translate the opportunity into electoral success. Under no circumstances should political differences degenerate into violence.
We respectfully appeal to the party’s governorship flag bearer and his supporters to exercise utmost restraint, responsibility, and political maturity in their public utterances and engagements.
At this critical stage, every statement should be measured against its potential impact on party unity and our collective electoral prospects.
The primary objective and the common goal is to secure victory for the APC in the 2027 general election, we should focus on this rather than getting distracted by petty disagreements, personal exchanges, recriminations, or whataboutism’ the group said.

Emphasizing the need to prioritize reconciliation, inclusion, strategic mobilization, and bring every member and stakeholder into the fold, the group also noted that ‘no candidate can secure victory alone; the strength of the campaign will ultimately depend on the collective goodwill, support, and commitment of the entire party’.
‘We recognize His Excellency, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, CON, as the leader of the APC in Kwara State and acknowledge his leadership of the party.
We sincerely appreciate His Excellency for supporting the zoning of the APC governorship nomination to Kwara North. We regard this as an important step toward equity, justice, fairness, and inclusiveness in the political development of our state.
Given the complexities and dynamics of our political environment, the Kwara North project must be pursued through broad consultation, unity, dialogue, and the involvement of all the stakeholders.
