2027: NDC Govt Will Build Refineries, Readdress Issue Of Fuel Subsidy If Voted Into Power-Kwankwaso

NDC Vice Presidential candidate, Alhaji Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso has disclosed that his party will readdress the issue of fuel subsidy if voted into power in 2027 submitting that Nigerians deserve affordable fuel prices.

Team@orientactualmags.com learned that Alhaji Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, who said this in an exclusive interview with Arise News on Tuesday, picked holes in the way the petrol subsidy was removed by the President Bola Tinubu administration..

‘Among the three of them, Bola Tinubu decided to remove the subsidy. And the consequences we thought would happen certainly happened. He removed it immediately, without looking at all the possible issues. That is how we found ourselves in this total mess economically’ he said.

Alhaji Rabiu Kwankwaso recalled that although all the major contenders had during the campaigns promised to remove fuel subsidy, but President Tinubu’s “day one” implementation without safeguards however worsened the situation.

He also criticized former Vice President Atiku Abubakar’s proposal to privatize refineries submitting that  it lacks clarity and is more political than practical.

‘We are bringing subsidy in our own way. If individuals in this country can build refineries, I see no reason why government under certain circumstances will not build refineries to achieve the minimum requirement, for people to buy fuel at a reasonable price.

We will do whatever it takes to put the price of oil down’ he added.

The former Kano State governor noted that the approach that will be adopted by his party to the ‘fuel issue’  will not be a return to the old subsidy regime but rather a structured intervention that will guarantee Nigerians relief at the pump while sustaining economic stability-Team@orientactualmags.com  Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
