2027: Nigerians Look Forward To Historic Presidential Election Rematch As Atiku Wins ADC Presidential Nomination

2027: Nigerians Look Forward To Historic Presidential Election Rematch As Atiku Wins ADC Presidential Nomination

Nigerians are looking forward to a presidential election rematch next year as it will be back-to-back contest between President Bola Tinubu and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.

While President Bola Tinubu has gotten renominated by APC for president, Atiku has also emerged as ADC presidential candidate.

Mr Peter Obi and Mr Omoyele Sowore will also be standing as candidates in the 2027 presidential election.

Sowore has won AAC presidential nomination and barring unforeseen circumstances, Mr. Peter Obi will also be emerging as the NDC presidential candidate.

President Bola Tinubu, who became the nation’s 6th executive president and Commander-In-Chief on May 29, 2023, had defeated Atiku and others to win the 2023 presidential election.

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has won the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential nomination and he and Tinubu will once again, face each other in the upcoming 2027 presidential election.

Interestingly, the president and his main rival, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar have come a long way. They were both political acolytes of late General Musa Yaradua and they were both leaders of the People’s Democratic Movement (PDM).

While Atiku has decided to take one last shot at the presidency, President Tinubu will also definitely not launch presidential bid anymore if he loses re-election next year.

Team@orientactualmags.com learned that ADC announced its presidential primary results at the Congress Hall of Transcorp Hilton, Abuja on Wednesday night.

Those who contested against Atiku are former Minister of Transportation, Mr Rotimi Amaechi and a former banker, Mohammed Hayatu-Deen.

‘Atiku 1,846,370, Amaechi 504,117, Hayatudeen 177,120. Total votes cast in the election: 2,546,457. Total party membership for the election: 3,113,599’ the party submitted on Wednesday.

The party’s NWC headed by Mr David Mark also officially presented the party flags to Atiku Abubakar on Wednesday after getting declared as winner of the presidential primary.

ADC held its presidential primary on Monday, May 25, 2026, and it was a direct primary election that had party members across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory participating in the exercise.

In the meanwhile, ADC presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has reacted to his victory in the direct primary and he has urged aggrieved former co-aspirants and party members to close ranks and ensure party cohesion and unity ahead of the 2027 general election.

‘I therefore appeal to all those who feel aggrieved to come back to our party and close ranks with the rest of us.

In particular, I invite Chief Rotimi Anechi and Alhaji Muhammad Hayatu-Deen to join me in this fight to save our democracy and our country.

As I said previously, there are no winners and no losers. Our people look up to us for leadership and I am ready to lead,

I shall work with you all to continue to build our party. I will campaign with you and if Nigeria’s leaders demand it, govern with you to build a country that works for all of us’ he added-Team@orientactualmags.com  Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
