2027: Nothing Unusual About Atiku Launching Presidential Bid At 80-Dele Momodu
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, who was born on November 25, 1946, and will be turning 80 next year, has the required experience and he clearly meets the criteria for election as president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, a veteran journalist who is also an ADC bigwig, Chief Dele Momodu, has submitted.
He also described the calls for voluntary withdrawal from the presidential race as ‘unbridled chicanery’.
Recall that a popular activist, who is one of the supporters of Mr Peter Obi, Zekeri Idris Jnr had urged Alhaji Atiku Abubakar to leave the ‘field’ for candidates who are younger than him.
Idris had in a viral video argued that the nation’s current challenges demand a different kind of energy while adding that no young Nigerian will vote for an 80-year-old presidential candidate.
‘If he likes, let him go and bring angels from heaven as his running mate — not even Peter Obi. We won’t vote for an 80-year-old man’ Idris had submitted.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned that Chief Dele Momodu in an X.com post however noted that those who are targeting the former Vice President are misdirecting their energy instead of holding the President Bola Tinubu administration accountable.
‘Instead of making videos against the ruling government, you’re dissipating energy on a man who has never wronged your preferred candidate’ he said.
The popular journalist, who noted that President Donald Trump of the United States of America and his immediate predecessor, Joe Biden, former president Muhammadu Buhari, late Nelson Mandela, Hillary Clinton, and others launched presidential bids while at ‘advanced age’, he also added that they ‘made good use of their age and experience for the betterment of their respective nations’.
