2027 Ogun Guber: Undeterred Ladi Adebutu Says Candidacy ‘Unassailable’, Welcomes APC Defectors In Abeokuta
Despite getting derecognized as Ogun State PDP governorship candidate by the nation’s electoral body, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Hon Oladipupo Adebutu on Monday asserted that his candidacy remains unassailable.
He also described the exclusion of his name from the final list of governorship candidates as an attempt to distract the opposition and disenfranchise voters submitting that he will remain focused ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned that Hon Adebutu said this at the state PDP secretariat, Abeokuta on Monday while receiving over 1,000 APC defectors into the party.
The defectors were led by a former member of the House of Representatives, Hon Segun William.
Hon Adebutu expressed confidence that the controversy surrounding exclusion of his name from the Final list released by INEC would be resolved while noting that it is laughable that his membership of the party is being questioned after he had contested on the platform of the party at different times in the last twenty years.
‘I have been the candidate of PDP for the last 20 years, every election cycle. My question is: at what stage did I leave or vacate the party? Where is the proof that for one day I have even visited the APC office, for that matter?
I was actively involved in organizing and financing the recent PDP membership registration exercise in the state, during which over 19,800 members were registered, my registration number was 1536.
The controversy surrounding my name on the INEC list as an attempt to distract the opposition and disenfranchise voters, but I am assuring our supporters that this party will not lose focus’ he said.
Hon Adebutu added that he remains undeterred and will continue with his campaign activities.
‘We have visited 12 of the 20 local governments. Of the 236 wards, we have visited over 140 now. Tomorrow again we continue, because we know that the trick is to get us distracted.
