2027: President Tinubu Seeking To Emerge As ‘Unopposed Candidate’-Dele Momodu… Rejected ADC Leaders Are Like ‘Warriors With No Swords’-Fani-Kayode

Mr Dele Momodu, a popular journalist and an ADC bigwig, has condemned the decision of the nation’s electoral umpire, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to derecognize the National Working Committee of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) headed by retired General David Mark.

He described INEC as ‘a debilitating albatross’ on the nation while alleging that President Bola Tinubu is seeking to be the only validly nominated candidate ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

Mr Dele Momodu also recalled that it was the late General Sani Abacha that first sought to have an uncontested election and be an unopposed candidate in the country.

‘INEC has been a debilitating albatross on Nigeria.

Our country has waltzed from bad to worse, since the annulment of June 12, 1993 Presidential election, which was apparently won by Chief Moshood Abiola.

The speed at which the current INEC swiftly recognized the Wike faction of PDP immediately convinced me about the robotic nature of our INEC.

There are different factions in APC fighting in different States, but INEC cannot touch them. With all the Governors coerced or cajoled and cheaply converted to APC, the ruling party is still feverishly jittery.

Now that the INEC has summarily ‘derecognised’ ADC, the last hope would be the courts, and even that is very precarious. But there’s always the GOD factor, which is always beyond human comprehension and expectation.

The ultimate aim of TINUBU and his acolytes is to produce a sole candidate in the 2027 Presidential election.

The last time such a brazen attempt was made was during the Abacha era, 1993-1998.

It is true indeed that humans hardly learn didactic lessons from history’ he submitted in an X.com post.

ADC in a statement issued by its spokesman, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, has also rejected INEC’s interpretation of the Court of Appeal ruling that led to the deregistration of the Mark-led NWC alleging that the electoral body acted under pressure from a government panicked by the opposition momentum despite its efforts to destroy all opposition parties and foist a one-party rule on the country.

ADC described INEC’s position as contradictory and inconsistent with facts, noting that it will publicly clarify these issues, while alleging that the electoral body has effectively sided with the government against Nigerians.

The party added that it is currently reviewing its options and will announce its next course of action soon, while urging its members and the public to remain steadfast as events unfold.

In the meanwhile, an APC bigwig, who is the nation’s Ambassador to Germany, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode has likened the ADC leaders to a jilted lover who is all dressed up with nowhere to go, while asking them to forget about the 2027presidential election and rather prepare for the 2031 presidential election.

‘They have been REJECTED by the courts, REJECTED by INEC, REJECTED by their original founders and REJECTED by the Nigerian people for being erratic, unstable, unreliable, unserious, irrational, epileptic, divided, crooked, hopelessly corrupt, palpably insane and wholly incapable of forming a united, disciplined and battle-ready political party!

They can’t even form a party and hold it together yet they want to rule Nigeria? God forbid!

To be sure they are not just a danger to themselves but to our country!

May I suggest that they channel all their energy to building up and forming a real opposition party over the next 5 years and then field a candidate for the 2031 presidential election?

Given the circumstances that is their best bet because 2027 is already lost to them.

INEC and the courts have spoken. The ADC has been gelded. They have been left with no balls. They are now a party of eunuchs. They no longer have a platform. They are like a headless chicken.

They are like a sorcerer with no staff. They are like a witch with no wand. They are like a racehorse with no legs. They are like a race car with no engine. They are like a ship with no sail. They are like a castle with no walls. They are like a warrior with no sword. They are like a Knight with no armour.

They are like a jilted lover who is all dressed up with nowhere to go.

Poor souls. God works in mysterious ways, His wonders to perform.

This is what happens when all you do is pose for group shots, talk balderdash on television, contract an army of malignant and malevolent trolls on social media, employ the services of leporous and incompetent spokesmen, contract rag sheets to spread lies and fake news, rely on your foreign friends to bring carnage and destruction and destabilise our country and lament from morning till night without offering any concrete solutions.

Frankly they got what they deserved.

Actually I believe they deserve even worse and worse will surely come their way.
