Ezekiel  Omisore ,1st Nigerian Structural Engineer, Dies At  96..President Buhari, Oyetola Offer Condolences

Former President of the Nigerian Institute of Structural Engineers, Arole Ezekiel Iyiola Omisore, is dead.

The nonagenarian, who died at 96, had under his belt a unique achievement- the first Nigerian Structural Engineer.

President Muhammadu Buhari has since offered his condolences to family members, friends and associates of the distinguished Nigerian.

The President in a statement by  his Media Adviser, Chief Femi Adesina,  said Pa Omisore brought into work and life  dutifulness, courage and inspiration, while remaining humble and warm even in his 90’s, with evidence of influence as a bridge for those that were climbing up, and a pillar for the downtrodden.

President Buhari  also acknowledged  the remarkable contribution of the deceased engineer to  the development of the country,  noting that he was first employed by the then Government of Western Region as the first Nigerian Structural Engineer before leaving to start the Engineering section of Design Group as an Associate Partner.

He urged family members and friends to  emulate Arole Omisore, who was also Gbobaniyi of Ile-Ife, Alatunse of Cathedral Church of the Anglican, Ile-Ife and Asiwaju Okunrin of the  Christian Association of Nigeria..

Immediate past  governor of Osun state, Alhaji Adegboyega Oyetola, has  also mourned the death of the prominent Osun state citizen, who was the patriarch  of the Omisore dynasty.

Oyetola expressed deepest condolences to the bereaved family of the deceased engineer, especially the National Secretary of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC),  Otunba Christopher Iyiola Omisore, and the entire people of Ile-Ife.

Oyetola, in a statement  made available to  Team@orientactualmags.com by his media aide,  Mr Ismail Omipidan, described the death of the nonagenarian as a painful one in view of his sterling contribution to nation’s building, national growth and development.

Oyetola, who described the deceased engineer as a distinguished Nigerian whose existence had greatly impacted humanity, added that he would be forever remembered for his enduring legacies, particularly in the engineering sector.

He acknowledged the immense contribution of the late Elder of Yoruba Tennis Club and former President of the Nigerian Institute of Structural Engineers at raising the bar of engineering sector in the country.

‘The tremendous achievements of late Omisore can never be over-emphasized as an employee of defunct Government of Western Region. He was one of the reference points in his chosen career as his expertise remained a subject of reference to the current and upcoming engineers in the country.

Though death is inevitable, we were pained at the time of the occurrence of his death, most importantly, when his repository of knowledge spanning decades was still useful to all and sundry. But we are consoled in the fact that the late Omisore lived all his entire life to worship his creator and impact humanity.

As I share the bereaved family’s  present mood, I urge them to take solace in the fact that Arole Omisore lived a worthy life and bequeathed indelible imprints that would live forever for generations yet unborn.

I commiserate with the entire members of the Omisore dynasty, the good people of Ile-Ife, its environs and indeed the people of Osun and Nigeria on the passing of our father, Arole Omisore.

We pray Almighty God to rest his soul permanently in the finest place in heaven and grant us the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss’ he said-  Team@orientactualmags.com
