Makinde , Wike Visit Tinubu In Abuja, Urge Support For Him
Two among the governors of PDP-controlled states, who refused to campaign for presidential candidate of their party, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar ahead of the presidential election held on February 25, 2023, have urged support for the president-elect, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.
Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers state , who is the leader of the PDP governors popularly called G-5 governors, noted that elections are over, hence the need to support Tinubu and ensure good governance.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned he said this while talking to journalists after meeting with Tinubu at the Defence House , Abuja on Friday.
The G-5 governors are Nyesom Wike (Rivers), Seyi Makinde (Oyo), Samuel Ortom (Benue), Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia) and Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (Enugu)
Wike was accompanied by Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo state during his visit to Tinubu in Abuja on Friday..
‘Elections have come and gone, and the winners have emerged, therefore, it is necessary for all Nigerians to rally round and give Tinubu necessary supports.
Everybody is waiting for May 29 when Tinubu will be sworn-in and I’m confident he has what it takes to turn things around’ he said.
Also speaking, Governor Makinde said he would support Tinubu to ensure good governance.
‘I came here to basically pay homage to the President-elect and to let him know that elections are over, and this is governance.
