Kwara Gov, Unilorin VC Endorse Saudat AbdulBaqi For NIPR Governing Council Job

Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has urged delegates to the upcoming convention of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) to support and vote for Dr. Saudat AbdulBaqi as member of the Institute’s Governing Council while calling her a credible daughter of Kwara state.
Dr. Saudat AbdulBaqi is the chairman of Kwara state chapter of NIPR.
The governor has given her an endorsement ahead of the NIPR Convention in Abuja which holds between August 23 and 25, 2023.

‘We are confident that the NIPR will be better served with Governing Council members like our own Dr. Mrs. Saudat Salah AbdulBaqi. The Associate Professor of Mass Communication brings to the table years of experience as an academic, ethical PR professional, thought leader, and an innovative thinker who is similarly respected for being a bridge builder and advocate of dialogue, peace and harmony in the society’ the governor said in a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com by Mr. Rafiu Ajakaye on Tuesday.

In separate statement, Vice- Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Professor Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, SAN, said he ‘is eagerly waiting to hear positive news from the 2023 National Conference of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations in Abuja that a former Head of the Department of Mass Communication at the University, Dr Saudat Sallah Abdulbaqi, has been elected as Council member of the highly respected professional body’.
The University’s Director of Corporate Affairs, Mr. Kunle Akogun, noted in the statement that Professor Egbewole said this while receiving a team from the Kwara state Chapter of the NIPR that visited him in his office on the sidelines of the Annual Doyin Mahmoud Memorial Lecture organized by the University’s Mass Communication Students’ Association.
The Vice -Chancellor praised Dr Abdulbaqi for her dedication and contribution to the field of Public Relations and communication scholarship, noting that ‘this is reflective of the University’s sustained commitment to nurturing outstanding professionals’.
In her remarks, Dr Abdulbaqi expressed her gratitude to the Vice -Chancellor and his management team for giving the team a warm reception during the impromptu visit.
She added that the Vice- Chancellor giving the NIPR team a warm reception has demonstrated the University’s commitment to fostering relationships and collaborative efforts.
Dr Abdulbaqi also congratulated the Vice- Chancellor for assembling a competent and socially- responsible management team, submitting that interacting with any member of the management team ‘is always a reassuring experience’.
