Osun APC Expels Biyi Odunlade, Razak Salinsile, 82 Others From Party … Cites Anti-party Activities
Osun state Commissioner for Political Affairs and Inter-Government Affiliation, Hon Biyi Odunlade , Alhaji Razak Salinsile and 82 others were on Wednesday expelled from the APC.
Those expelled from the party are loyalists of Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, a one-time governor of Osun state, who also served as Minister of Interior during the Muhammadu Buhari administration.
Many were of a considered opinion that his loyalists ,who were members of the defunct The Osun Progressives, TOP, and currently members of a new group launched a few days ago, Omoluabi Caucus, did not support the APC candidate, Mr. Gboyega Oyetola in the gubernatorial election held in the state on July 16 , 2022.
A development that lent credence to this was the appointment of Hon Biyi Odunlade and others as cabinet members by Governor Ademola Adeleke.
Hon Biyi Odunlade had served as Commissioner for Youths, Sports, and Special Needs during the Rauf Aregbesola administration .
Those expelled from the APC have been accused of getting involved in anti-party activities.
The state APC Chairman, Sooko Tajudeen Lawal , who disclosed this in a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com on Wednesday, noted that it was a ‘difficult’ but ‘necessary’ decision.
‘Following complaints of anti-party activities, the Executive Committee of Osun state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) constituted a Disciplinary Committee to investigate the allegations against some members.
This disciplinary measure came in response to the allegations of misconduct and actions that embarrassed and brought the party to disrepute.
The Disciplinary Committee undertook a thorough and impartial review of the allegations and the findings were carefully deliberated upon by the State Executive Committee.
After a comprehensive assessment of the evidence and consideration of the committee’s recommendations, the State Executive Committee has taken the difficult yet necessary step of expelling the following members from the party:
