A popular politician in Ogun state, Professor David Bamgbose, has died six days after leaving PDP for the PRP and getting the Ogun state Peoples Redemption Party gubernatorial nomination.
Team@orientactualmags.com learned Bamgbose breathed his last at the Sacred Heart hospital, Lantoro, Abeokuta, after a short illness.
Bamgbose’s death was reportedly confirmed by his Personal Assistant , Mr Oduntan Olayemi on Friday.
He explained that Bamgbose had complained of tiredness on Thursday, and he was taken to a hospital in Olomore, from where he was referred to the Federal Medical Central, Abeokuta. He was later admitted at Lantoro where he was given oxygen till today (Friday).
‘He complained of tiredness yesterday and we decided to take him to a hospital around Olomore. We were referred to the FMC for further checks
We opted for the state hospital, Lantoro because of the urgency and he was admitted at the emergency ward where he was placed on oxygen till today (Friday).
I got back to the hospital this morning and I met him breathing too fast and heavy. I was at where I went to get him some prescribed medication when he passed on’ he said.
Prof. Bamgbose is survived by wife, Mary Bamgbose and six children.
Bamgbose, who was a PDP guber aspirant , had in May this year backed out of the gubernatorial race and switched to Ogun West Senate race.
He eventually could not get party nomination and he had in annoyance left PDP for the PRP six days ago.
