Ex-Kwara Justice Commissioner , Alarape Salman, Dies At 81…Gov AbdulRazaq, Saraki Offer Condolences
A life member of the Body of Benchers, Alhaji Aliyu Alarape Salman, is dead.
Salman, a top lawyer, died in Ilorin the Kwara state capital, in the early hours of Sunday at the age of 81.
The news of his death gave birth to an outpouring of condolences.
The state governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has called Alarape’s death the end of a great era while also describing this as exit of a great man who made huge contribution to his community and the state as a whole.
‘The governor sends his heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of the late sage, a one-time Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General of Kwara state, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), and a respected leader of the Ilorin community.
Governor AbdulRazaq also commiserates with the Emir of Ilorin, Dr. Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, the Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU), and the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) on the sad development, recalling the meritorious service of the late sage to Ilorin, the state as a whole, and to the law profession.
He asks Allaah to forgive and admit the former IEDPU President to al-jannah Firdaus and preserve all his heirs and the community on the path of goodness and righteousness’ the governor’s Chief Press Secretary , Mr Rafiu Ajakaye, submitted in a statement made available to Team@orientactualmags.com on Sunday..
Former Senate President, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, has also described Dr. Aliyu Alarape Salman’s death as a great loss to Ilorin Emirate, and Kwara state in general.
Saraki in a statement issued in Ilorin by his Press Officer on Home Matters, Abdulganiyu Abdulqadir, said the late Salman was a towering legal icon, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, and a respected elder statesman who lived an exemplary life worthy of emulation.
The deceased lawyer, he noted, will forever be remembered for his legacies, his impacts on the lives of the people, and his contribution to the development of Ilorin and Kwara state in general.
‘The death of Alhaji Dr. Aliyu Alarape Salman is a great loss to our community, Ilorin Emirate, and Kwara state which he once served as its Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice. He was a distinguished son of Ilorin, a philanthropist, a respected community leader, and an elder statesman who lived an exemplary life worthy of emulation.
I send my heartfelt condolences to his immediate family and the entire Alarape family of Ilorin over this painful loss.
