Ochanja Road Project Not Yet Brought To Completion, Why It Was Washed Away- Anambra Works Commissioner

The controversial  Ochanja Road project in  Woliwo, Onitsha South local government , ,Anambra state, is still an ongoing project that has not been taken to completion , the state  Commissioner for Works, Ifeanyi Okeoma, has  submitted.

Team@orientactualmags.com learned that Okeoma, who visited  a part of the road  that was reportedly washed away by a heavy rainfall on Monday night, said the contractor was laying the last bit of asphalt on the paver when the rain began, and the base course on which the asphalt  was laid had gotten wet.

Recall that the Governor Chukwuma Soludo administration  had gotten  into spotlight  after a part of the road in question which  was  inaugurated during the second anniversary of the administration  had gotten washed away after a heavy rain on Monday night .

This development had consequently set tongues wagging.

Team@orientactualmags.com learned that an X user, Chude_ had captured the video showing a section of the road that has been washed away.

 ‘When we complain e go be like say we too dey talk, just one rainfall, look at Soludo’s road. 

This is the same Ochanja-Iweka Road they were celebrating its newly constructed needless roundabout some weeks ago. Shame dey catch me.

Just look at the state of the road after just one rainfall. What exactly did we do to deserve this #CCSoludo?’ he  had submitted.

Reacting to the video during his inspection visit to the toad project on Tuesday, Okeoma described it  (the video) as an attempt to throw spanners into the works of the state government, adding that nothing of such ever happened.

‘Every one of us is here on this road, and you can see that nothing happened at all. We actually saw the video last night, and first thing this morning, we came here to find out that nothing like that happened as you can see for yourself.

The contractor worked on Sunday and closed for the day and he stopped at a small portion that is about one foot and there was a heavy downpour and the base was blocked and that point is about one foot that got washed off.

As you can see, we are all standing on the stone base material that was primed so we are shocked at that mischievous video sponsored by the opposition to throw spanners into the good works of the state government and as you can see work is in progress’ he said-Team@orientactualmags.com  Do you have any information you wish to share with us?
